Why Kombucha?
We get it. Fermented tea sounds a little strange. But hear us out — because once you try a good one, you will wonder why you waited so long.
Kombucha is brewed from four simple ingredients: tea, water, sugar, and a live culture of bacteria and yeast called a SCOBY. Fermentation transforms those ingredients into something bubbly, tangy, naturally sweet, and genuinely good for your gut. Think of it the way you think of a great sourdough or a well-aged cheese — alive, complex, and worth it.
What does it taste like?
Crisp. Lightly carbonated. A little tart, a little sweet — like the brightness of a good sparkling water balanced with real fruit flavor. No harsh vinegar. No weird aftertaste. Just clean and refreshing.
Why Happy Hermit?
Adirondack Born-Made for Everyone
There are a lot of kombucha brands out there. Most are made far from here, by people who have never skied a nordic race, summited a High Peak, or paddled into the St. Regis Canoe Area at dusk.
We have done all of those things. We do them every day—sometimes multiple times a day—and Happy Hermit is the drink we reach for when we get back. We built this for everyone to enjoy while doing what they love most. This is an everyday, common man's beverage, crafted right here in the Adirondacks.
The Happy Hermit Standard:
Brewed locally in small batches
Fresh
Living cultures (similar to yogurt) and unpasteurized
